Doye Day, age 80, went to be with His Lord on Mon., April 8, 2013.
He was born in Lamesa, Texas on Dec. 19, 1932, to the late James Virgil Day and Zora Jeanette Alfred.
Mr. Day joined the U. S. Navy in June 1951 during the Korean Conflict.
He was honorably discharged in 1955. He married the former Theda Ball in August 1955.
Mr. Day was an educator in Texas, Mississippi and Oklahoma and alsotaught on an Indian Reservation in Montana.
Mr. Day leaves to cherish his memory, Theda Day, daughters Delana and husband Jay Burch of Denison, Dana and husband Brent Hail of Jacksonville, and son Derron Day of Muskogee, Okla., eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces andnephews.
Graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Sat., April 13, 2013 at Spencerville Cemetery in Choctaw County, Okla., with officiant Rev. Chuck Darby of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
