Fred Robinson, age 83, of Jacksonville, passed away Oct, 24, 2013, in Tyler Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 2, 2013, at Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Jacksonville, with Rev. Dr. Charles Walls officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
Mr. Robinson was born in Jacksonville on Jan. 1, 1930, to Wesley and Pearline Clemons Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a retired mechanic and a member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Pearline Robinson; siblings J.B. Robinson, Callie Rogers and Berry Robinson Sr., and a daughter, Shirley Louise Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: A loving wife, Willie Joyce Robinson; one daughter, Felicia Crooks; three sisters, Fadie Haley, Bertha Straughter of Dallas, Texas, and Willie Jean Griffin of Tyler, Texas; three brothers, Hubert Robinson (Doris) and Charlie Robinson of Jacksonville, Texas, and John Robinson of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren, Donnie Lofton Jr. of Orange, Texas, and Frederick Lofton and Aja Crooks of Beaumont, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Williams Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff on 2C-West at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler for their loving care.
He was a loving father and grandfather who will be missed by all.
