ALICE AYERS HILLIN

Jacksonville Daily Progress

JACKSONVILLE —

Mrs. Hillin entered into her heavenly home on October 27, 2013, at the age of 94. She was born in Anderson County, Texas to the late Oscar and Katie Bomer. She was predeceased by husbands Eddie H. Ayers and Robert W. Hillin.

Affectionately referred to by everyone as Mee-Maw, she was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was known for her beautiful smile, quick wit and generous heart.

She received her LVN nursing degree in 1957, later founding and operating Hillin's Nurses' Registry in Dallas until retiring to Waco. After the death of her second husband, she moved back to Jacksonville where she opened A&K Used Furniture. She loved going to garage sales and flea markets. After retiring from that business, she moved to Tyler in 2000.

She is survived by 5 children, Jerry Ayers of Jacksonville, Eddie Ayers and wife Claudia of Horseshoe Bay, Julia Ayers of Tyler, Carol Jean "C.J." Bates of Waco and Yvonne Radcliff of Mesquite, along with sisters Letha King and Era Bostic of Palestine and Ethylene Marsh of Houston, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a very special thanks to all the nurses and staff at Oakbrook Healthcare Center in Whitehouse for their wonderful care over the last seven years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, Texas. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, U. S. Hwy. 69 South, Bullard, TX.
