Funeral services for Gary Don Smith, age 72, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wed., Oct. 17, 2012 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville with David Butler, Andy Fannette, and Chuck Hopson officiating.
Burial will be held at Mixon Cemetery.
Mr. Smith passed away Sun., Oct. 14, 2012 in Tyler.
He was born March 31, 1940 in Jacksonville.
Mr. Smith was a brick mason in Jacksonville all his life, and was a member of People’s Church in Jacksonville.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Louise Smith.
Survivors include his wife Kay Morris Smith of Jacksonville; son Paul Smith and wife Julie of Jacksonville; daughters Tonya Smith McFarland and husband Steve of Flint and Glenna Weaver and husband Craig of New Summerfield; grandchildren Joshua and Jason Lacy, Aubrey Smith Mullins, Paula Smith, Ryan and Ramie Weaver, Dessie and J.W. McFarland, Mason Smith, Libby, Shevawn, Tristian, and Tresia McFarland; fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Josh Lacy, Jay Lacy, J.W. McFarland, Mason Smith, Ryan Weaver, and Kenneth King.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Newman, Tony Douglas, Jimmy Sides, Keith Lott, Freddie Morris, David Morris, Jerry Morris, James Bacon, Carl King, Darryl Kennon, Rocky Spraggins, and Frank Waites.
Visitation with the family will be Tues., Oct. 16, 2012 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
