Funeral services for Arlan Chamberlain, age 71, of Mt. Selman, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 20, at Autry Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Otis Bryan officiating.
Burial will be held at New Salem Cemetery in New Salem.
Mr. Chamberlain went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tues., Oct. 16, in a Tyler hospital following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 27, 1940 in New Salem, TX.
Mr. Chamberlain grew up in Jacksonville where he loved to hunt and fish. He later moved to Louisiana where he worked as a self-employed carpenter. He had recently retired and moved back to Mt. Selman to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Haward and Lorie Chamberlain, and best friends Morris and Goldie Kirby.
Survivors include his daughters Debbie Duffield Durrett and husband Taylor of Jacksonville, and Diane Segrest and husband Junior of Jonestown; step-children Tiffany and Robby Roberts of West Monroe, LA; brothers Gerald Chamberlain of Duncanville, Doyle Chamberlain of Seagoville, and Gene Chamberlain of Lake Palestine; grandchildren Randy Duffield Jr., Ashley Duffield Jones, Chayne Segrest, and Stormy Segrest; great grandchildren Dayton Jones, Conner Folmar, Cole Duffield, and Parker Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 -8 p.m. Fri., Oct. 19, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Pallbearers will be James Allen Hays, Randy Duffield Jr., Shawn Jones, Tim Whiteley, Marshall Whiteley, and Chase Gardner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Gardner and Chayne Segrest.
