Memorial services for Wilburn Lee Jenkins, age 76, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville, with Brother John Paul Little officiating.
Mr. Jenkins passed away Saturday, January 18, in Bossier City LA.
He was born October 22, 1937, in Fort Worth. Wilburn graduated from Handley High School in 1955 and attended college at Arlington State and the University of Texas in Tyler. He was an Eagle Scout and served in the United States Air Force and Reserves from 1958 to 1965. As a design and production engineer, he worked in the plastics industry for over 50 years. He and his family moved to the Jacksonville area in 1976. He enjoyed traveling all over North America with his cherished wife. Wilburn attended Rocky Spring Baptist Church in Dialville.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ellen Adell Jenkins of Jacksonville; sons, Bret Lee Jenkins of San Antonio, and Scot Robert Jenkins (and wife Keri) of Singapore; grandsons Greg, Garrett and Nathan Jenkins; sister, Joyce Miller (and husband Dan); and several nieces and nephews.
