Mae Clyburn

TYLER — Eura Mae Braly Clyburn of Tyler was born February 19, 1921 in Mixon to Samuel Emmit Braly and Annie Clyde Gayden.  She passed away peacefully on March 28, 2012, at HomePlace in Tyler.  Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Walter R. Clyburn, in 2004.  Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Samuel L. Braly, James F Braly, Vernon Clyde Braly and Durwood Braly, as well as two sisters, Mary Louise King and Claudine Mullican.

She is survived by her daughter, Reta Karol Clyburn Brand and husband, Dennis Brand; grandson, Darren Segelquist and his wife Tami; great-grandchildren, Tawny Segelquist, Christy Garza and Gerrek Zwickle; great-great-grandchildren, Alex and Jordyn Garza; three sisters, Wanda Beth Wiegman, Annie Fay Ites and Martha Virginia Willingham.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mae had been a member of West Erwin Church of Christ in Tyler for over 60 years and moved to Tyler in 1950.  She worked in retail sales for several years.  Mae dearly loved her family and made caring for them her life’s work.

Graveside services will be held at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler Saturday, March 31st at 1:30 p.m.  Guests may call on Mrs. Clyburn on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the cemetery.  Don Crawford, Involvement Minister of West Erwin Church of Christ, will conduct the service and the soloist will be Don Majors.
