Doris Ronell Crawford Stockton

MIXON — Funeral services for Ronell Stockton, age 81, of Mixon are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Mixon.  Burial will be at Mixon Cemetery.

Services are under Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Ronell was born to Carl and Fayrene Crawford in Ben Wheeler, Texas on September 16, 1932. In high school she played basketball and volleyball. She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and Baker’s Business School of Dallas. She was employed by Employers Casualty Insurance Co. and retired from the Longview Credit Bureau. As a mom, Ronell was active in PTA and served as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America. She was a gifted seamstress and heirloom quilter. Ronell was artistic as a storyteller, antique collector, decorator and painter. She especially knew how to warm a house into a home. Ronell went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 5, 2013.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carl Crawford; mother, Fayrene Jordan; stepmother, Edith Crawford; brothers, Neal Crawford, Loy Crawford, Jerry Curry; and sister Mary Jo King.

She is survived by Husband of sixty-two years, Louis Stockton; sisters Shelby Grimes of Tyler and Patricia McNight of Richardson; brother Patrick Crawford of Beaumont; sons Michael and wife, Elyse of The Woodlands, Greg and wife, Gayle of Mixon, Joe and wife, Robbyn of Mixon; and daughter, Deborah Davis and husband, Lowrey of Houston.
