Jean T. Hooker Moffitt

JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Jean T. Hooker Moffitt are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.  Graveside services will follow on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at Restland Memorial Park, located at 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas, Texas 75243.

Jean T. Hooker Moffitt left this life to spend an eternity with her Lord on June 30, 2014.  Jean was born in New Summerfield, Texas on October 20, 1926 to Alvie G. Tipton and Velma Birdsong Tipton.  She was 87 at the time of her death.  Also affectionately known as Jeanie, Grandma Jean, and simply 'mom', she was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.  Jean was a devout Christian, and a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Jacksonville.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Velma, as well as husbands; Floyd Reyburn Hooker (father of her daughters); Robert 'Bob' Ezell; and Gerald Mann.  Daughters Marcia Trager and Linda Harris also preceded her in death.

She is survived by husband Jack Moffitt; daughter Karen Hendrix, and husband TC; grandchildren Frank Gustafson and wife Theresa; Jeff Gustafson and wife Nancy; Jennifer Fointno and husband Andre; and Chad Hendrix.  Great grandchildren include Caroline and Ethan Gustafson; Kelsey and Kylie Duven; Jennifer Breyer and husband Josh; Chris Gustafson and wife Tierra; Lexie, Joshua and Jacob Hendrix; and Anthony Gustafson.  Others include son-n-law Fred Gustafson and wife Penny, sister-n-law Betty Claire Carmack, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Frank Gustafson, Jeff Gustafson, Anthony Gustafson, Chris Gustafson, Chad Hendrix and Jackie Stewart.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Gustafson, Andre’ Fointno, Philip Shuler and Glen Carmark.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 with family receiving friends from 6-8p.m. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
