Hugh L. Goodpasture

JACKSONVILLE — Hugh L. Goodpasture, 80, of Jacksonville, died Friday, May 30, 2014, in Tyler after an extended illness.

 A longtime resident of Jacksonville, Mr. Goodpasture was active in the community. He was a member of the Rotary Club, practiced as a CPA until he was 80 years old and was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church where he served for many years as an elder, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer.

 He is survived by his wife, Angie Smith Goodpasture; son and daughter-in-law, Sid and Eileen Goodpasture, of Folsom, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ed Draganski, of McKinney; grandsons, Jacob Tamm, Jordan Tamm and Griffin Tamm, of McKinney; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh L. Goodpasture Sr.; mother, Vera Sue Goodpasture; and sisters, Ruth Baggett, Sarah (Sally) Baker and Ora Mae Newman.

 A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. Following the service, friends are invited for a reception to greet the family in the Fellowship Hall.  

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, the HOPE Center of Jacksonville or a charity of your choice.
