John Marvin Watthuber

JACKSONVILLE — John Marvin Watthuber, 72, passed away January 11, 2014 in Houston, Texas.  He was born November 30, 1941 in Jacksonville, Texas.  He was a resident of Conroe, Texas since 1975.  

John graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1959.  

He had a love and appreciation for the ocean and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 until 1962 aboard the U.S.S. Shangri-La.  John also enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and SCUBA diving; all traits he passed on to his two sons and five grandchildren.       

John is survived by his son, Mike Watthuber and wife, Stacey, and their children, Bailey, McKenna and Cameron of Spring, Texas and his son Mark Watthuber and wife, Susan, and their children, Mason and Amanda of The Woodlands, Texas.

Visitation will be held in Conroe, Texas on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Metcalf Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville.
