NEW SUMMERFIELD —
Funeral services for Don Cox, Sr., age 69, of New Summerfield are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Andy Cox and Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will be at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield.
Mr. Cox passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Tyler.
Don was born February 28, 1944 in Jacksonville. Don was a welder, farmer and a Jack of all trades.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Zora Belle Cox; brother, Robert Cox; sister, Jane Cox and husband, Doug Cox.
He is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Donicia Cox of New Summerfield; son, Donny Cox and wife Kathy of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Maggie Garcia, Joe Garcia, Carlos Garcia; great-grand daughter, Kaylin Flores; brothers, Andy Cox and wife Linda of Troup, Gary Cox and wife Debra of Ponta; sisters, Janet Underwood of New Summerfield, Betty Herring and husband James of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Byron Underwood, Dick Sessions, Frank Waites, Rickey Brown, James Greenwood, and Gary Lynn Cox, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Cox, Chris Cox, Eddie Herring, Timmy Herring, Doug Cox, Jr., and David Cox.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, February 9, 2014 with family receiving friends from 5- 7p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his sister Janet, for all her loving care.
