William L. “Bill” Lang

JACKSONVILLE —  Funeral services for Mr. William L. “Bill” Lang, age 97, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for  2 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at  Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Bro. David Hallum officiating.  Interment with Masonic Rites will be at Vinson Cemetery near Jacksonville.

Mr. Lang died Thursday February 6, 2014 in Tyler.  He was born December 12, 1916, in Jacksonville to the late Henry L. and Sarah Adams Lang.

Bill was a retired sheet metal specialist in the air conditioning industry.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.  Bill was a deacon of Afton Grove Baptist Church in Jacksonville and a lifetime member of the NRA.  He was Past Worshipful Master of Jacksonville Masonic Lodge #108 AF&AM. He was a member of the Bullard Masonic Lodge #785 and was a member of the Scottish Rite of Waco. He was an endowed member of both lodges.  Mr. Lang was the recipient of the coveted Golden Trowel Award within the Masonic Lodge. Bill was for many years on the board of the Vinson Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jo Lang.

Survivors include several cousins and many close friends.

Pallbearers will be Members of the Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will begin Saturday, February 8, 2014 with a family receiving friends from 5 to7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home.
