Funeral services for Dr. Joe Danel of Jacksonville, age 82, are scheduled for Thursday 2 p.m. June 27, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
Burial will be held at Jarratt Cemetery.
Dr. Danel passed away Mon., June 24, in his home in Jacksonville.
He was born Aug. 1, 1930 in Latimer County, Okla. to Logan and Lillie Danel.
Dr. Danel graduated medical school from the University of Oklahoma. Upon graduation he began his practice in Holdenville, Okla. in 1961. He then came to Jacksonville in 1972 and practiced at Stripling Clinic until retiring in December 2006 at the age of 76.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Shelva Danel of Jacksonville; daughter Sandy Killian and husband Don of Meridian, Okla.; sons Stacy Lambeth and Joe Danel Jr both of Jacksonville; sister Mattie Stout and husband Jim of Kansas City, Mo.; brother Richard Danel and wife Dorothy of Stillwater, Okla.; grandchildren Don Killian Jr and wife Shana of Meridian, Okla., Christi Killian of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Carla Killian of Edmund Okla.; four great grandchildren, Michael Blair and wife Casey, Kristen Blair, Robbie Killian and Jake Killian one great-great granddaughter Ella Blair and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Gowin, Brian Gowin, Toby Gowin, Trae Gardner, Sean Rose and Ray Bouman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Gowin, Billy Powell, Ray Davis, Bob Johnson, Bud Ridgley and Terry Mickler.
Visitation will be held from 5 -7 p.m. Wed., June 26 at Autry funeral Home.
