Linda Cheryl Buxton Jenkins

JACKSONVILLE — Graveside services for Linda Cheryl Buxton Jenkins, age 63, of Rusk are scheduled for 10 a.m., Sat., Oct. 12,  in Lone Dove Cemetery with Robby Arrington officiating under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.

Mrs. Jenkins passed away Oct. 9, 2013 at her residence.  She was born November 5, 1949 in Rusk to the late Tom C. Buxton and Margret McNeeley.  Mrs. Jenkins was a lifelong resident of Rusk, graduate of Rusk High School in 1968, and graduated with a business degree from business school.  She retired from Rusk State Hospital with 30 years of service as an administrative technician.  Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Rusk Church of Christ, loved her grandkids, and loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margret McNeeley Buxton Phillips, father, Tom C. Buxton, step-son, Joey E. Jenkins, sister, Vera Buxton Clayton.  Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Elbert E. Jenkins Jr. of Rusk, three daughters, Susan Kay Jenkins Goad of Ore City, Sherry Lynn Carpenter, Lisa Lynn Jenkins Robinson of Big Sandy, two sisters, Reba Phillips Wick of Reklaw, Margie Buxton Adams of Rusk, brother, Tommy Buxton of Killeen, granddaughter, Cassie M. James Brown of Big Sandy, grandson, Aaron E. Goad of Ore City, grandson, Cameron S. Carpenter, granddaughter, Morgan E. Carpenter, grandson, Ryan A. Carpenter, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Fri., Oct. 11, at the funeral home.
