COLLEGE STATION — Graveside services for LaNelle Russell, age 83, of Flint and formerly of Jacksonville, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at College Station Cemetery with the Rev. Ted Eaton officiating.
LaNelle was born July 16, 1930, in Alice, TX, and passed away at a Tyler hospital on February 15, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Lee Burt and Dola C. Collard Burt, her husband, Charles C. Russell and a son, Andy Russell.
LaNelle was a graduate of Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, a member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, a retiree of Jacksonville Savings and Loan in Jacksonville and a loyal Texas A & M fan.
In her early years, she had worked as a secretary at Texas A&M.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
LaNelle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Angela Russell of Jacksonville; daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Roy Starr of Flint; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Perry Mueller of Lake Jackson and Shirley and Rev. Ted Eaton of Saginaw, TX; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Teddy Burt of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Jovi Starr of Flint, Zane Starr of Flint, Austin Russell of Jacksonville and Alec Russell of Jacksonville; AND nieces, nephews and many friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
