Funeral Service for Ester Hope Vaught, 89, of Bryan and formally of the East Texas Area will be Sat., April 6 at 1 p.m. in the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Rector David Hoster officiating. Burial will be held in the Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Vaught passed away Wed., March 27 in Bryan.
She was born Feb. 10, 1924 in Woodbury, Conn. to Harold K. and Ester Detlefsen Somerset. She lived most of her life in the Houston area and in numerous other places including, New York, Connecticut, the Texas Gulf Coast, Jacksonville and Bryan/ College Station.
She was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bryan. Mrs. Vaught worked as a nurse at numerous hospitals and special delivery for the postal service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mack L. Vaught.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: David and Dawn Ferguson of Caldwell; Tom & Ann Ferguson of Chico; Mark Edward & Debbie Ferguson of Houston. Her daughters: Margaret Alsup of Bryan; Marlene Coker of Arlington; Judith Warren of Potsdam, New York; Patricia Hughes of Georgia. A brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jean Somerset of California. A sister, Patricia Somerset of New York City, 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Daniel Ferguson, Joshua Ferguson, Micah Warren, Neal Alsup, Brian Hughes and Chuck Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers are James Hughes, John Stoll, John Coker and Pat Quezada.
The family request donation is made to the National Diabetes Association or to the Charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held Sat., April 6 at noon before services.
