JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Antonio Salazar, 68, of Jacksonville, Texas, formerly of Seminole, will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Family Harvest Church. Pastor Carl Brotton will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Salazar passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas. He was born April 29, 1945, in San Benito, Texas to Beatrice (Meza) and Juanito Salazar. He married Lorene (Robledo) Salazar in Seminole on August 12, 1966.
Antonio, a Baptist, was a very dedicated and motivated farmer as well as an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He enjoyed music and loved to eat fresh tortillas and beans. He is preceded in death by his father, Juanito; his wife, Lorene; one daughter, Lori; one brother, Tim Salazar; and two sisters, Amelia Salazar and Gloria Montalvo.
Salazar is survived by two sons, Tony Salazar and wife Sharla of Hobbs, New Mexico and Fabian Salazar of Hobbs, NM; two daughters, Lisa Chagnon and husband Michael of San Angelo, Texas, and Christine Barron of Hobbs, NM; his mother, Beatrice Salazar of Jacksonville, Texas; five brothers, Mike Salazar, Mario Salazar and Arthur Salazar, all of Jacksonville, Texas, and Alex Salazar of Corsicana, Texas, and Ronnie Salazar of Louisiana; and three sisters, Melissa Rodriguez of Jacksonville, Texas, Lydia Zavala of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Janie Herrera of Taylor, Texas.
