JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Jewel Williams, age 102, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Jack Albright and Rev. Tom Stevenson officiating. Interment will be at Union Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Williams passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 in Jacksonville.
Jewel was born July 22, 1911 in Cherokee County to John and Laura Ann Tillman. She was a member of Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 55 years where she was a Sunday school teacher, secretary, and an elder. After the church closed, she became a member of First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Williams; daughter, Marva Nidiffer; parents; six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Mildred Irby, Mary Jo Smith and husband Dick; sons, Forest Williams and wife Nancy, Robert Williams and wife Judy, all of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will begin on Monday, March 3, 2014 with family receiving friends from 5-7p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
