Richard “Paw Paw” Robertson

JACKSONVILLE — Graveside services for Richard “Paw Paw” Robertson, age 83, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thurs., Sept. 5, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Carroll and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Mr. Robertson passed away Tues., Sept. 3, 2013 in Jacksonville.

Richard was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Jacksonville to Hadley and Ola Robertson.

Mr. Robertson was an avid golfer. He was a founding member of Hielman Field and a former Fire Chief for the Jacksonville Volunteer Fire Department. After 40 years of employment with GTE/ Verizon, he retired.

He was a football official, coached for the Little Leagues Pony Leagues and the Jacksonville JAX Semi Pro Baseball Club.

He was a member of Sunset Baptist Church of Jacksonville.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorene Smith and Thelma Webb; brother, J. B. Robertson; and nephew, Richie Robertson.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Maxine Robertson of Jacksonville; son, Larry Robertson  and wife Darlene of Rusk; daughter, Connie Moore of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Wess Moore, Manda Ruff, Jamie Moore, Ryan Robertson; great-grandchildren, Justin Moore, Josh Moore, Brooklyn Moore, Callie Robertson, Berkeley Moore, Kaiden Ruff; and many special step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wess Moore, Jamie Moore, Ryan Robertson, Justin Moore, Josh Moore, Jon Ruff, and Mavis Moore.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wed., Sept. 4, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
