Valondia Kay Sessions

JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Valondia Kay Sessions, age 63, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, February 24, 2012 at Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville with Rev. Ken McEachern and Rev. Lee Welch officiating.

Burial will be at Jarratt Cemetery, Jacksonville

Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Sessions passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 in The Woodlands.

She was born October 25, 1948 in Rusk, TX.

Mrs. Sessions was a member of Beall Chapel Baptist Church, Jacksonville, and was very active in her church, was employed with GTE for 26 years, and also with Prosperity Bank for 17 ½ years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Frank and Geneva Merriwether, and her brother Edward Dewane Merriwether.

Survivors include husband of 34 years Charles Sessions of Jacksonville; daughters, Tena Argenbright and husband Clay of Jacksonville, Kathy Hunter and husband David of Corinth, and Kim Sessions of Jacksonville; son, Brad Sessions and wife Terri of Bullard; sisters, Glenda Long of Rusk, and Necia McLain and husband Larry of Crockett; brother, Gary Dean Merriwether of China,    TX; sister-in-law, Dorothy Merriwether of Kingwood;  four grandchildren, Trent, Taylor, and Trevor Hunter, Bailey Sessions, a baby grandson due in June;  and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Comte, Norman Terry, Doyle Smith, Jack Cleveland, Steve Mock, and David Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Smith, Clyde Lambright, Wilson Welch, Charlie Gipson, David Cooper, and Wayne Starkey.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
