Graveside services for Hellard Eugene "Gene" Latner, age 69, of Jacksonville were at 2 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 26 at Meador Cemetery, Jacksonville, with Rev. Lester Foreman officiating. Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jack-sonville was in charge of the services.
Gene Latner was born June 24, 1943 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. to Howard Rogers Latner and Annie Lucille Epperson Latner. He moved to the East Texas area in 1955. He was a member of Beall Chapel Baptist Church and had worked at Western Pulp for many years of his working career. Gene Latner is survived by his wife, Sandra Latner of Jacksonville, one son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Amanda Latner of Tyler, three sisters, Pearl Johnson, Willie Mays and Judy Thompson, all of Jacksonville and three brothers, Howard Johnson of Tyler, Jessie Latner of Tyler and Walter Latner of Jacksonville and three grandchildren,
Mikayla Flournoy of Tyler, Casie Beers of Tyler and Abbey Gene Latner of Flint. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to noon Wed-nesday morning at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
