JACKSONVILLE — JACKSONVILE – Funeral services for Maxine Elliott Thompson, age 86 of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednes-day, January 23, 2013, at Autry Funeral Home chapel with Davy Carter and Bruce Ligon officiating.

Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park, Jacksonville.

Ms. Thompson passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Tyler.

She was born February 26, 1926 in Ranger, Texas.

Ms. Thompson was a 1943 graduate of Jacksonville High School, attended Baylor University for two years, was a lifetime resident of Jacksonville, and was very active in the community. She was co-owner with C.R. “Chuck” Thompson of Thompson Funeral Home in Jacksonville and Frankston, Gould Monument Works and Texas Thompson Insurance Company in Jacksonville, and Land of Memory Cemetery in Palestine. She loved to play bridge, enjoyed traveling and going on cruises, and was a brownie scout leader. She was always in-volved in the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was a member of Corinth Road Church of Christ in Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents F.B. “Dick” and Laura Olivia “Jack” Elliott and brother and sister-in-law Bud and Ecie Elliott.

Survivors include her daughters Gail Rainey of Jacksonville and Karen Luce and husband Billy of Whitehouse; five grandchildren Shannon Carpenter and husband Anthony of Jacksonville, Jason Lawless and wife Kelly of Lindale, Brandon Luce and wife Leslie of Canton, Lance Rainey and wife Lindsey of Lawton, OK, and Andrew Luce of New Orleans, LA; six great grandchildren Brooke Price, Jordan Lawless, Kaleigh Lawless, Kelsi Luce, Haley Luce, and Carson Carpenter; and two nephews Jerry and Scott Elliott.

Pallbearers will be Jason Lawless, Brandon Luce, Lance Rainey, Andrew Luce, Jordan Lawless, Billy Luce, and Anthony Carpenter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Elliott and Scott Elliott.

A special thanks is extended to the staffs of Bonner Street Plaza in Jacksonville, Trinity Mother Frances Hos-pital of Jacksonville and Tyler, and Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital in Tyler for their loving care.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
