Graveside services for Gerry Burns, age 79, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sun., April 28, at Meador Cemetery, Jacksonville, with Rev. Hank Chandler officiating, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Burns passed away Thurs., April 25, 2013 in Jacksonville.
She was born August 19, 1933 in Lincoln, Neb. to Lloyd C. and Mary M. Way.
Mrs. Burns worked as the credit manager for J.D. Bearden’s furniture store and was a Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Jean Ellett and Mary Elmore.
Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Bill Burns of Jacksonville, son Bruce Burns and wife Danielle of Ennis, sister, Nancy Goleman of Jacksonville, grandchildren; Russell Burns serving in the U.S. Navy and Alyson Chapman of Rice, great grandchildren; Ayden Burns of RI, Luke Chapman and Kinzi Chapman both of Rice, several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Low, Robert Haberle, Roland St. Lawrence, neighbors of Dogwood Circle, T.O. Wood, A.C. Wright, Doug Goleman, Frank Burns and Jimmy Burns.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Sat., April 27, at Autry Funeral Home Jacksonville.
