Services for James Galloway, 71, Troup, will be Thurs., July 25, at 3 p.m., in the Cottle Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Jimmy Curtis, Jan Pate, Andy Cox Officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Troup.
Mr. Galloway died Sun., July 21, 2013, at his residence in Troup. He was born Nov. 14, 1941, in Concord, Texas, to the late Joseph Ernest Galloway and Bessie Lee Johnston.
Mr. Galloway was a Supervisors for Pipe Fitters Local 211 for 47 years , served on the Concord Cemetery Association Board as Vice President, and Concord Community Water Board as President, and a member of National Riffle Association.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Steven Galloway.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Martha Ann Pate Galloway, Troup; daughters and son-in-laws, Katrinia Spring Wells and husband Charles, Pollock, La.; April L. Hawbarker and husband Michael, Houston; Leigh Ann Thurman and husband Kent, Mt. Selman; Angel Mae Coggins and husband Jason, Madison, Ill.; chocolate daughter, Brandie Anderson and husband Hershel, Jackonsville; sons and daughter-in-law, John Dennis Galloway and wife Jennifer, Hallsville, Texas; Johnathan Alexander Galloway, Austin; “sisters“, Linda Childress, Troup; Nettie Fay Potts, Troup; “brother“, Billy Childress, Troup; 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Husband, Brian Futch, Buddy Husband, Johnny Husband, Josh Owens, and Andrew Owens.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Childress, John Owens, Jr., Charlie Mahaffey, and Clois Martin.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m., Wed., July 24.
