José Vicente Suarez

JACKSONVILLE — Mass of Christian burial for José Vicente Suarez, age 66, of New Summerfield will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Fri., July 26, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in New Summerfield with Father Mark Kusmirek officiating.  

Burial will follow at Union Chapel in New Summerfield.

Mr. Suarez went to be with his Lord on Sat., July 20, 2013.

José Vicente Suarez was born March 25, 1947, in Rancho La Mesa Alta, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was a strong, devoted family man who adored his children and grandchildren.

A man of faith, who journeyed for 36 years to Mexico and joined in a pilgrimage walk from Santa Rosa to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. He was a self-employed ran-cher/farmer and found great joy in caring for his animals. A humble man indeed and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, María De La Luz Suarez; sons, Jose. L Suarez and wife Maria C., Vicente Suarez and wife Rosa M., Ramon Suarez and wife Josefina; daughters, Sara Jimenez and husband Raul, Amalia Mendoza and husband Honorio, Rufina Vargas and husband Samuel, Susie Mendoza and husband Jose Luis; 30 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of New Summerfield.

Pallbearers will be sons and son-in-laws, Jose L. Suarez, Vicente Suarez, Ramon Suarez, Raul Jimenez, Honorio Mendoza, Samuel Vargas, and Jose Luis Mendoza.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thurs., July 25,  at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Rosary following at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in New Summerfield.
