JACKSONVILLE — Memorial services for William Truman Walker “Uncle Buddy,” age 76, of Slocum, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Fri., March 1, in Oakland Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Don Copeland and Rev. Jamie Hogan officiating.

Mr. Walker died Feb. 27, 2013 in a Jacksonville Hospital.  He was born August 17, 1936 in Atoy to the late Archie Loftin and Mattie Ruth Reedy.  Mr. Walker was a resident of Slocum for eight years formerly of Lake of the Pines.  He was Baptist by faith, retired from Eastman Kodak and La Tourneau Industries, loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret J. Walker, son, Danny L. Page, sisters, Etta Pearson and Louise Haney.  Survivors include a sister, Mary L. Babb of Point Harbor, North Carolina, special nieces, Vicky Carnes of Slocum, Marie Foreman of Rusk, Linda Stewart of Maydelle, special cousin, Howard Walker of Rusk, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will include Maynard Carnes, J.L. Foreman, Bruce Stewart, Michael Work, Nicholas Foreman and Glenn Foreman.  Honorary pallbearers will be Riley Threadgill, Trey Martin, Ethan Martin, Timothy Foreman and Jake Clark.

There will be no visitation.
