JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Bennie “Pop” Wagner, 82, Jacksonville, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler, with Bro. David Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Monk, Austin Davis, Josh Hodgkins, Nathan Hodgkins, Andrew Hodgkins, Cory Davis, and Matthew Chandler.

Pop was born on May 4, 1931 in Flint, to the late Jack Wagner and Lela Cooper Wagner. He passed away peacefully on July 23, 2013 in Jacksonville.

He worked for as a driver for Roadway and was also a Shriner and a Mason. An avid fisherman and hunter, Pop was known as a handyman and landscaper.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Wagner; brothers, Richard and Leland Wagner; and sons-in-law, Butch Monk, Tommy Hodgkins, and Bruce Chancelor.

Survivors include his loving wife, Pauline Wagner of Jacksonville; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Thomas Isham of Tyler; step-daughters, Darlene Hodgkins of Mesquite, Patricia Chancelor of Jacksonville, and Billie Jo Davis and husband Dewayne of Rusk; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday at Burks Walker Tippit.
