JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Karen Shoemaker are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with David Jimerson, Dr. James Shine, and Mike Prescott officiating.  Interment will be at Shiloh  Cemetery in Omen near Troup.

Karen Elizabeth Jimerson Shoemaker of Jacksonville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2014. Karen was born August 23, 1953 in Baytown, Texas.

She was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church of Jacksonville, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and other positions of service. She retired from Tyler Independent School District after nineteen years of service. She was a routing and scheduling supervisor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bert C. Jimerson; mother, Ruth Elizabeth Jimerson; and son, Billie Bert Shoemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Billie Bonner Shoemaker of Jacksonville; mother, Allie Faye Busby of Jacksonville; and daughters, Katrina Shewey and husband Larry of Hopkinsville, KY, Jennifer McMichael of Jacksonville; brothers, David Jimerson and wife Gail of Jacksonville, Lonnie D. Jimerson and wife Jeri of Jacksonville; sister, Linda Jimerson Ezell and husband Dean of Jacksonville; sisters-in-law, Becky Fowler of Irving and Peggy Lankford of Liberty Hill; six grandchildren, Tyler, Haley, and Savanah Shewey of Hopkinsville,KY, Christopher Shoemaker of Jacksonville, Cole and Cayden McMichael of Jacksonville.

She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be J.R. Shoemaker, Kevin Mead, Charles Fielding, John Bagert, Jeff Standley, and L.D. Jimerson.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 with family receiving friends from 6-8p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
