JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for, A. J. Cavazos Jr. age 91, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wed.,  May 8 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Steve Edwards and Dennis Harvey officiating.

Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Mr. Cavazos passed away Sun., May 5 in Jacksonville.

A. J. was born Dec. 22, 1921 on in Hidalgo County.  

A. J. was a member of Central Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.  He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge #108 and Past President of Jacksonville Rotary Club.

Preceding him in death are his parents - A.J. and Estella Cavazos, brother Adon Cavazos, two Sisters Eva Guerra and Estella Garza and one grandson, Chad Cavazos.

A.J. is survived by his wife of 52 years Margaret of Jacksonville, two sons, Gary Cavazos and wife Dianne and Dale Cavazos and wife Phyllis both of Jacksonville. The surviving grand children are Mathew (Julie), Brice and Austin Cavazos, Cara (Cameron) Carr.  The great-grand children are Hannah Kay, Kelsey, Greenley and Alana Cavazos; Cadie and Cutter Carr. One brother, Arnold Cavazos, one sister, Lupita Hernandez and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive him.

The Pall Bearers are Gary, Dale, Matthew, Brice and Austin Cavazos, Cameron Carr, and Ronny Lee.

Honorary Pall Bearers are Frank Waggoner, Calvin Dotson, Charles Jasper, Robert Perry, Robert Weed, Glenn Gibson, Sammy Senesac, Tommy and Johnny Jones, The Juarez Family and the Goodfellows Sunday School Class.

If desired, memorials may be made to the Hospice of East Texas Foundation, The American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
