JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Melvis Leon Work, age 74, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sat.,  June 8 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with James Baylock officiating. Burial will be at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield.

Mr. Work passed away Tues., June 5, 2013 in Jacksonville.

He was born May 5, 1939 in New Summerfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Work and Ruby Pearl Teal; brothers, Mancel Work and Charlie Work; and sister, Joyce Work.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Dorothy Marie Work; sons, Manuel Work and wife Maresa and Mark Work, all of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Christopher and wife Kristen, Greggory, Heather; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Maddie, Makenzie and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Work, Charlie Work, Eddie Birdwell, Michael Carpenter, Jimmy Earl Rawlinson, Charles Carpenter Jr., Anthony Carpenter, Steven Carpenter with Michael Pinckard as honorary pallbearer.  

Visitation will be held on Fri., June 7,  from 5-7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home.
