Memorial services for David Lamar Smith, Jr, age 51, of Jacksonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 18, at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Lester Foreman officiating.
David was born July 7, 1961, in Mitchell Co., Camilla, Georgia to David Lamar and Rose Kathleen Holt Smith.
He grew up in Georgia and had lived in Jacksonville approximately 22 years. He was an electrician and worked for J & L Electric Co.
He lost his life in an accident on Sat., Oct. 13, 2012, in Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Lamar Smith, Sr. and a son, J. C. Smith. David is survived by his mother, Rose Kathleen Smith of Newton, Ga., his former spouse and mother of his children, Jennifer Smith of Madisonville, a daughter, Nawaicee Kathleen Bosco of Laredo, a sister, Pam Conner of Moultrie, Ga., two brothers, John Cox of Sylvester, Ga. and Reuben Smith of North Carolina, two grandchildren, aunts, Effie Fulgum of Newton, Ga., Virginia Crosby of Newton, Ga., Eunice Cole of Madisonville, Ruby Ainsworth of Albany, Ga., Mary Ann Newberry of Whigham, Ga., and Myrtice Holt of Newton, Ga., two uncles, James O. Holt of Newton, Ga., and Emmett Hot of Warner Robbins, Ga., two special cousins, Marvin Benton Holt of Newton, Ga. and Dr. Robert Cannon of Lawrenceville, Ga., numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
