Graveside services for Carrie Maurine White, age 66, of Rusk are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2013 in Hendrick Cemetery with Pastor Keith Hassell officiating under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.

Services for Mrs. Lola B. Mallard, 73, of Rusk, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Mt. Oliver Baptist Church with Rev. Mertis Bartley, Rev. Jerry Leviston, Rev. Loinel Whitaker and Rev. Melvin Session and Rev. Ray Boston. Burial will be in Rusk City Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.

Lola B. Mallard died Oct. 29, 2013, in Tyler, Texas.

She was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Cherokee County, Texas, and attended Bradford High School. A resident of Rusk, she was a loyal member of Mt. Oliver Baptist Church. Mrs. Mallard also worked for several years at the Cherokee Head Start program and was a former employee of the Rusk State Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Mallard, and their daughter Senetta Mallard.

Surviving her are her three daughters, Sherran Ward, Karen B. Edmond and Brenda Mallard, all of Rusk; two brothers, Frazier (Carolyn) Foreman of Dallas, and Hubert Ward of Lufkin; three sisters, Mary Foreman, Charlsie Session and Lela (Jerry) Leviston, all of Rusk; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Whitaker, Walter Session, Andrew Jackson, Dexter Garrett, Berry Deckard and Larry Davis. Her nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
