Marcos Antonio Lopez

JACKSONVILLE — Mass of Christian burial for Marcos Antonio Lopez, 19, of Jacksonville, is scheduled for Fri., May 17, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville with Father Mark Kusmirek officiating.

Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

Marcos passed away on May 12, 2013 in Troup.

He was born Aug.22, 1993 in McAllen.  

Marcos was a beautiful, humble person with a big heart and a smile that would glow. He attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2012. He enrolled at Tyler Junior College but spoke of how he knew God had a different plan for him. With that in mind, Marcos was scheduled to leave this summer to attend Summit International School of Ministry in Pennsylvania. There he knew he would find God’s calling for him.

He is survived by his beloved parents, Maggie and Pablo Lara; siblings, Angel “Yaya” Lara, Bianca “Tita” Lara, Caesar Lara, Frankie Lara, and Giovani “Peanut” Lara, all of Jacksonville; grandparents, Pablo and Guadalupe Lara, of Jacksonville and Jocie Lozano, of Arlington; numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Darius Clatter, Daniel Turner, Reggie Johnson, Jordan Adams, Chris Landin, and Miguel Gallegos.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thurs., May 16 with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m.
