Madeline Claiborne Mines

JACKSONVILLE — Graveside services for Madeline Claiborne Mines, age 83, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 at Pierces Chapel Cemetery in Jacksonville with Miles Pike officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Mines passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 in Jacksonville.

She was born February 20, 1931 in Pierce’s Chapel.

Madeline was a member of the Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Minnie Claiborne; brother, Rev. Waymon Preston Claiborne and a sister Evelyn Pope Norrod.

Survivors include her sisters, Bonnie Slider and husband Nolen of Pierce’s Chapel, Janell Seeton and husband Jerry of Cove Springs, Nelda Gray and husband Spencer of Athens; brothers, Charles Clennon Claiborne and wife Doris of Pierce’s Chapel, Gerald Claiborne and wife Daphine of Mixon; sister in-law, Dianna Claiborne Jacob of Pierce's Chapel; and special friends, Mary Nell Warren and Mary Beth Hooper.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Mitchell Claiborne, Charles A. Claiborne, David Claiborne, Phillip Claiborne, Matthew Claiborne, Preston Claiborne, James Claiborne, Jason Seeton, Jeffrey Seeton and Bradley Gray.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, May 11, 2014 with family receiving friends from 5-8p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of East Texas for their tender loving care. Also to the wonderful nurses, aides, staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home and special thanks to Dr. Alfonso Saade.
