JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Jerry Wayne “Butter Bean” Durrett, age 67, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Jordan Grindle officiating.

Mr. Durrett passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Jacksonville. Jerry was born March 11, 1947 in New Summerfield to Vernon and Catherine Middleton Durrett.

He was a truck driver for over 50 years. He was an avid fisherman, and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Durrett, mother and stepfather Catherine and Earl Sanders, brother, Ramey Sanders and sister in-law, Vivian Hodges

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Becky Durrett of Jacksonville; sons, William Durrett and wife Danielle Jackson Durrett of Jacksonville; Jerry Durrett and wife Deanna, Wayne Durrett and a daughter, Liz, all of Kennard; a brother, Lewis Durrett, Oklahoma, sisters, Earline McRight and husband Joe, of Jacksonville, Esther Mendez, Jacksonville, Shellia Stubblefield and husband Glen, of Canton, a sister in-law, Debra Sanders, Houston. There are nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin on Monday, March 17, 2014, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8pm at Autry Funeral Home.
