JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Helen Dyess, age 72, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wed., Oct. 2,  at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Ken McEachern and Rev. Bill Rambo officiating.  Burial will be at Providence Cemetery in Jacksonville.

She passed away Sun., Sept. 29, 2013 in Jacksonville.

Helen was born Nov.9, 1940 in Jacksonville to Herman Eugene and Dell Irene Freeman.

Mrs. Dyess was a seamstress and a member of the Beall Chapel Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Neal Dyess; parents; brother, Howard Freeman; and sister, Dorothy Dover.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Eugene Dyess and wife Nadia of Saganaw, William Nathan Dyess and wife Diane of Oakland, Jimmy Neal Dyess of Jacksonville; daughter, Laura “Lollie” Holland and husband Talley of Oakland; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Billy Lynn Dyess and wife Mary Jane of Jacksonville; sister-in-law, Bethel Cannon of Turney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Compte, Patrick Patillo, Bruce Robinson, Andy McCown, Charles Sessions, and Cary Carr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Terry, T.J. Sexton, Jay Compte, Chris Silvey, Billy Reyes, Larry Patillo, Jeff Smith, and Glen Smith.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tues., Oct. 1, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
