JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Jewel Garrett Stiefer, age 87, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 24,  at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Rick Stiefer, Rev. John Doud, and Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Meador Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Stiefer passed away Mon., Oct.21, 2013 in Jacksonville.

Jewel was born Feb. 28, 1926 in Jacksonville to John and Josie Garrett.

Mrs. Stiefer was a retired seamstress and a member of the Pentecostal church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd B. Stiefer; and son, Floyd Wayne Stiefer.

Survivors include her son, Rev. Rick Stiefer and wife Cynthia of Hideaway; daughter, Charlotte Taylor and husband Weldon of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Shannon Stiefer, Jason Stiefer, Melanie Stiefer, Nathan Stiefer, Matt Taylor, Zach Taylor, Sara Taylor Griffin, and Erin Taylor; 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matt Taylor, Luke Griffin, Zach Taylor, Nathan Stiefer, Tony Rollins, and Jason Stiefer.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wed., Oct. 23, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Senior Care of Jacksonville and Heart to Heart Hospice of Tyler for their loving care.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.
