Michael Dewayne Tomlin

JACKSONVILLE — Services for Michael Dewayne Tomlin, 46, San Antonio, formerly of Troup, are scheduled for 4 p.m., Tues., Dec. 11,  at the Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup with Reverend Darin Woods officiating.

Mr. Tomlin died Thurs., Dec. 6, 2012, at his residence in San Antonio. He was born Oct. 25, 1966, in Tyler. He was a 1985 graduate of Troup High School and entered the U.S. Air Force where he served for over 16 years achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He had been a resident of San Antonio since 1997 and attended the Pentecostal Church. He was a medical technician.

Mr. Tomlin was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was the proud father of both a Marine and a Soldier. He was a great friend a talented fix-it man and had a wonderful sense of humor.

He married Brenda Suringa at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, Nov. 20, 1987.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Brenda Tomlin of San Antonio; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ryan and Rosa Tomlin of San Clemente, California and Casey and Sara Tomlin of San Antonio; his parents, Jimmie and Sherry Tomlin of Henderson and Melinda and Jack Lewis of Jacksonville; a brother, Josh Tomlin of Henderson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Amanda Lewis and Kim and Zack Socia both of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Mia and Isaiah; and his grandparents, Rayburn and Wilma Tomlin of Troup and Joyce Smith of Jacksonville.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Tomlin, Casey Tomlin, Josh Tomlin, Amanda Lewis, Thomas Peoples and Chris Hendrix.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 . - 4 p.m., Tues., Dec. 11, prior to the service.
