Graveside services for Ruby Blocker, age 86, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Fri., Feb. 1, at Jarratt Cemetery under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, with Travis Yackel officiating.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Sat., Feb. 2, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Blocker passed away Sun., Jan. 27, 2013 in Tyler.
She was born April 16, 1926 in Loco, Okla. to Gentry and Alice Downes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, threesons Glenn, Randall and Toby Blocker, and daughter Dianna Frew.
Ruby’s brother Neil Downes baptized Ruby and Victor Blocker on the same day in California in 1955. Neil also began Victor and Ruby’s lives together as a couple by uniting them in matrimony in California on Dec. 10, 1955. They were together 50 years until Victor’s passing in 2006. She was a faithful, baptized member of Jehovah’s organization and a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Tyler South Congregation.
Survivors include her daughters Lynn Blocker of Jacksonville, Alice Ruiz of Dallas, Donna Veach and husband Cheyenne of Bullard and son Ron Blocker of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 31, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Ruby sleeps now in Jehovah Gods memory awaiting the resurrection, where one day in the very near future, she will be reunited with her dear loved ones and Gods faithful people in a promised paradise.
In that paradise earth, she will continue in her love and devotion to a just God, free from the pains and misery of failing health and the ravages of Satan’s former wicked system.
