Letter: Spend no more on wars

Jacksonville Progress

Have we not killed enough? Do we not have enough enemies that we should make more? We now have more private contractors than soldiers. Can we afford these government building projects? Who benefits by all the killing that we do around the world?

We should be manufacturing futuristic green technology rather than continuing our military monster. The technology of those drones used to kill and suppress people could be developed for flying over the landscape of Mars instead of dropping bombs on unsuspecting children.

Eisenhower warned us about the urge to use our massive military complex. It has become a ruthless lobbyist in Washington with Chicken Little warnings. It is time to stop the funding of these wars that are making us less safe contrary to what our Chicken Little Military complex is telling us.

No more money should be appropriated for these senseless wars in which no investigative reporter is allowed to tell the story uncensored by the military.
