Dumplin Valley Trio to appear
at Eastside Baptist
Eastside Baptist Church presents the Dumplin Valley Trio, of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., in concert at 6 p.m. March 29, at the church.
This group is one of the best groups in Southern gospel music today, according to church officials. Everyone is invited to attend. The church is located on Academy Street, off U.S. Highway 84 E. in Rusk.
There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be taken.
Rocky Springs presents
‘Rocky in Concert’
On Sunday, March 30, Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church will have “Rocky in Concert.” Church members, guests and visitors will sing, play instruments and give testimonies.
A special offering will be taken during the morning service for the Building Fund.
Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church is located a half-mile west of Dialville on Farm-to-Market Road 1910.
Rusk FCMC to hold garage sale
The Rusk First Congregational Methodist Church will hold a garage sale at 8 a.m. April 5 at the church.
The sale includes clothes, house-hold items, electronics, books, videos, decorative items and lots more.
Proceeds benefit Methodist missions and missionary projects.
The church is located next door to Bob Francis Ford on U.S. Highway 69 N, in Rusk.
Mt. Selman UMC holding
annual auction
Mt. Selman United Methodist Church is having its annual auction at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 5.
Items to be auctions include a variety of treats like homemade cookies, cakes and pies, jams, jellies, relishes and salsas, handmade chocolates, peanut brittle and divinity; various arts and crafts projects, like silk flower arrangements including sprays, wreaths and baskets, painted gourd bird houses, wooden squirrel feeders, potted plants, trees and flowers, needlework and artwork.
The auctioneer will be Dan Gattis. Refreshments will be served.
The church is located on the corner of County Road 855 W., one block off U.S. Highway 69, in Mt. Selman.
Proceeds of this auction will be used for the church’s building fund.
Foster to speak at People’s Church
Scott Foster, missions pastor at Harmony Hill Church in Lufkin, will be the featured speaker at the morning and evening worship services at People’s Church, Highway 79 East in Jacksonville. The morning worship is at 10:30, and the evening worship is at 6.
Foster has preached the gospel in Eastern Europe, Southeastern Asia, and Central and North America. He miantains street missions in Lufkin, Houston and Galveston, as well as a local food pantry that feeds 1,200 to 1,400 people monthly.
He and his wife, Rhonda, have two children, Braden, 13, and Alexis, 11. His parents are Jody and James Foster of jacksonville. His sister, Patti Foster, will present special music at both Sunday services.
Other upcoming events at the church include the monthly singing at 5 p.m. Saturdya, march 29; a benefit garage sale Saturday, April 5; and a concert by Dottie Rambo, queen of gospel music, on Saturdya, April 26.
The Rev. Andy Fannette, People’s Church pastor, says all services are open to the public.
Citywide prayer next week
The citywide prayer event will be at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Norman Activity Center.
Healing room offered
River of Life Christian Church in Rusk has recently opened a Healing Room in which they offer prayer free of charge to anyone in need of healing. If you would like to come for prayer, the Healing Room is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday though Thursday or by appointment. Call 903-683-3132 for details.
