First United Methodist holds garage sale
First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville will hold a rummage sale 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 1031 SE Loop 456. Furniture, kitchen items, toys, clothes, tools, books and lots more will be available.
Rusk First United Methodist Church holds chicken spaghetti luncheon
The Rusk First United Methodist Church will hold a chicken spaghetti luncheon 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at 255 S. Henderson St. Tickets are $6. For more information, call 903-683-4675.

First Baptist Neches holds ‘A Night to Honor Israel’
First Baptist Church of Neches will lead “A Night to Hold Israel” beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, 200 Anderson St. in Neches. Dr. Nathan McBride, pastor, will present “Discover Israel,” a video and slideshow presentation. There will also be an Israel in Prophecy Bible study, Israeli-Messianic music, a display of geological and archaeological items from Israel, information about an Israel tour in June 2010, and Israeli/Jewish food. Nov. 23
Alliance holds Thanksgiving service
The Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring a Community Thanksgiv-ing Service at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. The alliance urges all church families and the community at large to attend. The speaker will be Joel McMahon and the Jacksonville College choir, under the direction of Sheryl Hanna, will perform. An offering will be taken up to benefit HOPE and community hunger projects.

Eagle’s Nest youth center hours
The Eagle’s Nest Christian youth center is open for Jacksonville youth from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The center is at the corner of Nacogdoches and Ragsdale streets in Jacksonville. Call operator Larry McGlade, 903-539-1996, for more information or to donate to the center.
Quality, affordable Education for Children 3-5
Holy Family Early Learning Center begins its second year of providing a positive learning environment in a Christian setting. Aidell Hamilton brings more than 35 years experience as a professional educator as the center’s new director. The center provides a Christian environment and developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages 3 to 5. It also provides professional and experienced teachers and staff who are CPR and first aid certified. Doors are open daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. After school tutoring/care is available for school-age children. Financial assistance is available. Classes begin Aug. 17. All are welcome to come by and visit the center at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1023 Corinth Road, Jacksonville, or call 903-586-4538.
Healing Room offered
River of Life Christian Church in Rusk has recently opened a Healing Room in which they offer prayer free of charge to anyone in need of healing. If you would like to come for prayer, the Healing Room is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday or by appointment. Call 903-683-3132 for details.
Ministerial Alliance
The Ministerial Alliance provides an opportunity for the leaders of local churches to meet for prayer, fellowship and planning. All pastors are welcomed. This is a great chance to meet and hear the concerns and needs people face as well as the many ways God blesses them in the community.
