CROCKETT — State Class 3A bi-district playoff action gets under way at 6 p.m. tonight at the Crockett Middle School Gymnasium for the Bullard Lady Panthers (24-13), the second-place team out of District 17-3A, and Huntington’s Lady Red Devils who came in third behind Carthage and Diboll in District 18-3A.

Bullard is led by outside hitters Valerie Roberts and Nikki Coleman and setter Heather Camp.

Other key contributors for head coach Kala Morrow’s club include Ariel Hamby, Brittany Glover and Ariel Hamby.

The Lady Panthers, who finished second to Spring Hill in league play, won four of their first five district matches before losing three in-a-row down the stretch.

Bullard finished strong, however, by securing wins over Gladewater and Gilmer to conclude the regular season.

The winner of Tuesday’s match will advance to an Area Round contest against Brownsboro, the District 20-3A champion. That match will be played on either Thursday or Saturday at a site to be determined.
