HENDERSON — Whitehouse clinched a playoff spot Friday night at Lions Stadium as quarterback Hunter Taylor went 20-for-30 for 423 yards and six touchdowns to spark the Wildcats to victory. Trey Metoyer also had a big night for Whitehouse, catching eight passes for 229 yards and five touchdowns. Whitehouse moves on to face Longview at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Lobo Stadium in a bi-district matchup. Henderson ends the year on a three-game losing streak, but finishes with a non-losing record for the first time since 2004.
Kilgore (5-5, 3-2) 48 Nacogdoches (3-7, 0-5) 28
NACOGDOCHES — Kilgore jumped out to a 24-0 lead after the first quarter and then held on the rest of the way as the Bulldogs thumped Nacogdoches 48-28 Friday at Dragon Stadium. With the victory, Kilgore earns the final playoff spot out of District 14-4A and will face Marshall at 7:30 p.m. Friday at R. E. St. John Memorial Stadium in Kilgore. The Bulldogs came out firing on all cylinders Friday, collecting two interceptions, a blocked punt and scoring 24 points in the first six minutes of the game.LaDarius Anthony paced the Bulldog attack by gaining 242 yards on 26 carries and scoring three touchdowns. Offensively, Kilgore picked up a total of 382 yards in the affair, 318 of which came on the ground.
