Bullard teams split tournament games

Bullard teams split a pair of tournament games played Friday night at different locations.
The Bullard Panthers lost to No. 8-ranked Whitehouse, 58-38 in the second round of the Wagstaff Classic basketball tournament held on the campus of Tyler Junior College.
Whitehouse jumped out to a 30-16 halftime lead and never let up on the Panthers.
Austin Camp had 9 points coming from three 3-pointers. Lance Anding scored 7 for the Panthers.
Bullard, 12-6 for the year, advanced to play Lindale in a game which was played Saturday in Tyler.
Bullard girls
The Lady Panthers took a 53-40 win over Frankston in the Frankston Classic Friday evening.
Danielle Heithoff had 19 points to pace Bullard with Sarah Welling adding 10 points.
The Lady Panthers are now 16-4 for the year.
In earlier action in Frankston, the Lady Panthers beat Malakoff, 66-22 in the opening round of the Frankston Classic Thursday.
Bullard jumped out to a 33-8 halftime lead and never looked back in the rout.
Malakoff was held to just four points in each of the first two quarters.
Bullard finished the game off by outscoring Lady Tigers, 19-4.
Scorers for Bullard were: Heithoff, 16; Calli Miller, 12; Sarah Welling, 11; Elisa Lee, 9; Kayla Welling, 8; Hillary Philpott, 6; Ashley Ricci, 2; Mallory Red, 2.
Philpott had two 3-pointers in the big win.
Monday, the Bullard girls play at Palestine, JV, V, 1 p.m.
District play heats up Friday with Athens at Bullard girls, 9, JV, V, 5 p.m.
The Panthers host White Oak, Friday with the 9, JV, V all scheduled to play, beginning at 5 p.m.
