Raiborn, Eagles blank Center, 5-0

RUSK — The Eagles (14-12) got a two-hit shutout pitching performance from Josh Raiborn to blank Center 5-0 in a non-district tilt that was played at Eagle Park. Raiborn struck out five Roughriders in his seven frames of work.

Michael Crews had two hits to lead Rusk at the plate.

Center is now 12-12 on the year.


MCKINNEY — Brook Hill destroyed McKinney Christian, 19-2, in TAPPS 4-3A action on Friday.

Clayton Engel and Drew Robertson had three hits each for the Guard while Kendall Kerns, Collin Mondrik, Jonah Gonzalez and Quintin Pile had a pair of hits apiece.

Five Brook Hill pitchers saw action on the hill, with Pile getting the start and fanning eight in three innings of work while giving up a lone run on two hits. He also walked two batters.

The Guard will host Central Heights at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.


LINDALE — Jacksonville fell victim to a no-hitter as Lindale (9-22, 5-5 16-4A) crushed the Tribe 14-0 in District 16-4A play. The Indians (8-20, 2-7) host Rusk at noon today (Saturday).
