ATHENS —

Trinity Valley Community College, ranked No. 16in the country, prevented the Jaguars of Jacksonville College from closing out the 2013 portion of their schedule on a positive note.

The Cardinals racked the Jags, 76-54, in Athens Friday night to improve to 14-1, 4-0 Region XIV.

The Jags (4-9, 0-4) will now take a four-game conference losing streak into the Christmas recess. The JC men are scheduled to return to the court at 7 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2014 when they entertain the East Texas Flight, prior to diving back into conference waters on Jan. 4 by hosting the Ponies from Panola College at 4 p.m.

One bright spot for the Jags is the fact that five of the club's next seven games will be played in the friendly surroundings of the Curtis Carroll Fieldhouse.
