JMS hoopsters swap wins with Whitehouse

JACKSONVILLE —

 

The Jacksonville Middle School 7th-grade Blue buried Whitehouse, 64-24, Thursday night in Jacksonville.

LaTeris Castleberry dumped in 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to log a double-double.

Cason McCuin contributed 12 points and had five assists.

The JMS 8th-grade Gold, behind a seven point night from Cobie Hamilton outlast the Wildcats, 28-15.

Christian Perez had a team-high nine rebounds and scored two points.

Despite a 14 point and 10 rebound effort by Josh McDowell, the Braves' 8th-grade Blue unit fell, 42-33, to Whitehouse.

Jaeshun Bush had four assists and three steals for JMS.

The JMS 7th-grade Gold were stopped 26-18 by their Wildcat opponents. Sean Driskell and Taqualan Thompson with seven points apiece.

“We are proud of the effort and competitiveness with which the boys played,” Phil Nash, JMS Athletic Coordinator, said.

JMS' Gold squads will be taking part in the Lufkin Hudson Tournament today.

Next Thursday all of the Braves' teams will be in Lindale to take on the Eagles.
