Lady Tigers whip up on White Oak, 49-24

Ross fires in 22 as Troup moves to 4-1

WHITE OAK —

White Oak's Lady 'Necks managed to keep things close for the first quarter of their game against Troup on Monday.

But basketball is a four-period game and the final three segments were all Troup's as the Lady Tigers were able to improve to 4-1 on the season by earning a 49-24 decision over White Oak (0-2).

Junior forward Josee Ross exploded for 22 of her club's points while junior Paeton Nolan ended up with 10 points.

Ross shot 10-of-20 (50%) from the field.

Ross completed a double-double by bringing down 13 rebounds, with Nolan tossing in eight and junior MaKayla Kreuger adding seven. Troup tallied 36 boards for the night.

The Lady Tigers led 22-12 at the break and then proceeded to outscore the Lady 'Necks 27-12 in the find half.

It was Troup's second victory of the season over White Oak.

Troup is slated to return to the hardwood on Tuesday by traveling to Martin's Mill. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Ben Wheeler.
